Week of 5/28 - 6/1

posted May 29, 2018, 5:07 AM by Cheryl Adair

This week we will use synthetic division, the remainder theorem and possible rational roots to hunt for zeros.  If you are absent for any reason this week, please make sure you come during help sessions to get caught up!  We will also discuss the graphs of polynomial functions using key information; zeros, roots, increasing, decreasing, relative maximums and relative minimums to name a few.

On day 1 we will be completing the SGO and reviewing all methods of factoring.  For the rest of the week, we will perform operations with polynomials (add, subtract and multiply).  On day 4 expect a quiz on this information.

Week of 4/30 - 5/4

During this week we will finish the unit on Logarithms and Exponential functions on day 1.  Days 2 and 3 will be filled with review material for the upcoming SGO.  On day 4, you will take part 1 of the SGO.  Then on day 1 of the following week you will take part 2 of the SGO.

Weeks of 4/16 - 4/27

During week 1 we will review solving ln equations and prepare for PARCC.  During week two we will solve exponential and logarithmic word problems and review for the next test.  The first test of the quarter will be on Monday, April 23.

Weeks of 3/12 - 3/23

We will learn the properties of logarithms and use them to expand, condense and solve equations.  On day 3 of the week of 3/19, we will have the last major assessment of the quarter.  Your notebooks will be due that day as well.  Following the test, we will graph logarithms and begin discussions about natural logs.

Week of 3/5 - 3/9

posted Mar 5, 2018, 6:46 AM by Cheryl Adair

This week we will begin by reviewing the topics of solving exponential equations and graphing exponential functions.  Expect a quick quiz this week on that information.  We will then begin exploring logarithms.  You will learn how to evaluate them and use their properties to solve equations.
